St. Louis Earth Day Festival 2010 Logo Design Contest

Design Guidelines

  • Designs must be inspired by and contain the slogan "40 Years Later: Living Earth Day, Every Day!"
  • Artists may submit multiple designs, but they must be submitted with entry information in separate emails.
  • Designs must be wholly original. By submitting a design you are guaranteeing that you hold rights to everything in it, and that it does not contain any copyright material. When you submit the design and a contest registration form, you are attesting that your design is original.
  • Entry information should be included in the body of the e-mail when submitting design and must include:  
  1. Title of Submission
  2. Name
  3. Address
  4. City, State
  5. Zip
  6. Phone number
  7. Email Address
  8. School (If applicable)
  9. Are you at least 18 years old?
  10. (Legal Guardian's Info if child is under 18: Name, Address, Phone number, and Email)


Design Specifications

  • Photoshop, Illustrator or another professional design program are preferred design formats. Applicants using another means of design must be prepared to provide print-ready files of the design if selected as a semi-finalist.
  • Submission must be in PDF, jpg, or gif format.
  • Design should contain no more than four (4) colors.
  • Submission may not exceed 5MB. We will ask the winner for a high resolution file.

 

Submission Agreement

  • While the contest is open to students, applicants must be 18 years or older to submit. Otherwise a parent or guardian may submit on applicant's behalf.  Any submitted design becomes the property of St. Louis Earth Day.
  • St. Louis Earth Day reserves the right to make any adjustments deemed necessary to the winning design.
  • St. Louis Earth Day will have all rights to the winning design. By submitting you agree that if your design wins, it can be used by St. Louis Earth Day on a T-Shirt, poster, and other promotional items.
  • Submissions will be accepted until Friday, February 5, 2010.

  • Entries will be judged by a panel selected by St. Louis Earth Day resulting in 5 semi-finalists.
  • Those 5 semi-finalists' designs will be uploaded to the St Louis Earth Day Web site and judged by online votes from February 11-17, 2010.
  • The winner will be notified via e-mail by February 19, 2010.
  • Winner receives a free St. Louis Earth Day T-Shirt with their winning design and a St. Louis Earth Day Prize Package.
  • By submitting and entering the contest, you are agreeing to all contest rules and are attesting to the originality of your design.


Intellectual Property
Any submitted idea, documentation, photograph or design entered in this contest will remain the exclusive property of St. Louis Earth Day and Entrant agrees that St. Louis Earth Day and its designers shall have the perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable right to edit, publish and use these materials in any way and in any and all media now or hereafter known for trade, advertising, promotional and/or other purposes as St. Louis Earth Day may determine in its sole discretion without further consideration to Entrant or winner. 

The Entrant agrees to assign all rights, title and interest into the submission, including copyright, to St. Louis Earth Day and waives his/her legal rights in the submission. 

Authorization to Use Winner's Name
Accepting the prize constitutes permission for the St. Louis Earth Day to make public and otherwise use winner's name, voice, picture, likeness, opinions, biographical information, city of residence, and submitted work without further compensation in any media now known or hereafter developed for promotional and/or publicity purposes, unless prohibited by law.
