St. Louis Earth Day’s Recycling On the Go is the region’s first wide-scale event recycling program. Our goal is to reduce the negative environmental impact of events and festivals by reducing and recycling a portion of the waste they generate. We offer a full range of services from managing event recycling to full event greening and solid waste management.
PLEASE
NOTE: This is not a free service. We can only consider requests that
already have funding for solid waste removal. Please allow two weeks
for a reply.

Our organization relies on grants, corporate sponsorship, and event contracts to sustain our programming. Through our 2008 Recycling On the Go efforts, we diverted the following materials from area landfills, most of which were collected in just the summer and fall seasons:
Recycling weight: 25 tons
Recycling volume: 453 cubic yards
Oil weight, converted to bio fuel: 4.5 tons
Edible food value donated to area food pantries: $3667
Food weight, compost: 627 lbs
Total diversion by weight: 28 tons
Total diversion by volume: 458 cubic yards
*(estimates based on best data available)
In 2008…
Our program was represented on 71 event days and experienced by 614,365 people.
Our recycling bins were utilized at 11 small event community functions.
We partnered with nearly 20 area non-profit organizations and for-profit businesses to ensure environmental consciousness at events big and small in the St. Louis region.
St. Louis Earth Day offers thanks to the generous sponsor of our program supporters:
