Earth Day Challenge

The Earth Day Challenge is our way of helping you make your Festival experience more sustainable.  Complete 2 of the following 4 tasks, and you have met the Earth Day Challenge! Check in at the Earth Day Challenge Booth to receive an entry into our NEW awesome raffle!

  • Arrive at the Festival via sustainable transportation.  Ride the Metro (bus and/or train), ride your bike, walk, or carpool.
  • Bring your own bag and water bottle.  Reusable bags are good for purchases or give-a-ways that you may acquire at the Festival.  Our vendors are not allowed to use plastic bags.  Plastic bags are so passe, so help us grow the reusable bag phenomenon. Reusable water bottles can be refilled at water stations throughout the Festival grounds, which are marked on the Festival map.  No bottled water is sold or given out.  Some vendors will have water jugs at their booths as well!
  • Eat vegetarian or vegan at the Festival!  Many of our food vendors offer vegan options.  Eating vegetarian/vegan is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint.  Check out all of the Food & Drink options!
  • Compost your food waste at home because it’s Too Good To Waste.  It’s estimated that up to 40% of food is wasted in the U.S. and when food goes to the landfill and rots, it produces methane—a greenhouse gas even more potent than carbon dioxide.  Do your part by starting a compost bin or service for your household food scraps.

The prize list will be coming soon.  Stay tuned – they are awesome!
